Ernst Heinrich Roth Violin
Ernst Heinrich Roth Violin
Ernst Heinrich Roth was a master violin maker in the early 1900s. Based in Markneukirchen, his personal instruments from the 1920s and 1930s were beautiful examples of high quality violin making. Ironically, in 1902, Ernst Heinrich Roth built a workshop with his cousin August Ficker, which succeeded beyond the reputation of his personal work. The Roth workshop violins from 1920 to 1930 provided exceptional quality at accessible prices. Today, these violins are often recommended for conservatory track students. This particular violin is a Gaurneri model with the tone color and dynamic range needed for advanced repertoire. It projects clearly in the upper positions, is even across the range and responds quickly. Its versatile sound responds well to different strings and bows. It is a great instrument for a serious highschool student or second instrument for a professional player.
