RETAIL MANAGER - WEST LEBANON, NH
Love playing the violin? Viola or cello? Love sharing it with others? Here’s an opportunity to share your passion with the musical world of the Upper Valley. We are seeking a Manager for our West Lebanon location…an individual with the passion for the music and the ability to facilitate effective management of the retail location.
This full time position comes with a lot of independence and an opportunity to shape the future of this retail location and play a leadership role in Vermont Violins. The Manager is responsible for maintaining and building quality relations with the region’s players, teachers and students. Duties include:
Customer communications and outreach
Maintaining a welcoming space
Running sales, including instrument demonstration for clients
Tracking customer projects, orders and rental requests
Inventory Management
Facilities and Infrastructure
Marketing and Advertising, working with Marketing Director and owners
Liason work with other location
Deliveries to schools and in-person outreach
Advocacy for your customers
The ideal client will have a strong understanding of the violin family (with a proficiency in violin, viola or cello), will enjoy working with kids and adults and exude an upbeat positive attitude that reflects the enthusiasm we all feel for our instruments and work as a strong team member willing and able to contribute to the overall positive life of the shop! The ideal candidate will be exceptionally well organized and attentive to detail and be adept at multi-tasking in a complex environment. Years of retail experience, with some management experience desired.
Candidate must have valid driver’s license and be able to lift up to 35 pounds.

LUTHER - VIOLIN MAKER
For Immediate Hire: Vermont Violins and V.Richelieu Instruments seeks a qualified luthier to join the team in our South Burlington location. Come bring your excellent skills, attention to detail and desire to work with an outstanding team of craftspeople as we work to bring music to our communities.
We seek a team-spirited individual who is trained for set ups and basic repairs and is eager to apply their existing skills to our instruments and those of our clients. All luthiers participate in the building of our own brand of instruments as well so this is a unique opportunity to be involved in repairs and adjustments AND violin making too!

Vermont Violins enjoys a diverse workforce and welcomes all applications. The successful candidate will have formal violin-making or lutherie training either at an established school or with time spent in a qualified workshop. Good blade skills and basic knowledge of violin repair and adjustment is required. Ability to play a bowed instrument is desirable.
A special nod will be given to luthiers interested in exploring the machining side of the process: operation of CNC machines in particular.

MACHINIST / CNC OPERATOR
We are seeking a full or part-time assistant machinist to assist in the production of violins and associate parts in our fully-mechanized, 21’st Century workshop. Working with the Production Manager, this person would assist in the operation of two CNC machines (both 3 axis and 6 axis), troubleshooting standard manufacturing procedures, and preparing fixtures and materials for machine work.
This is a unique opportunity to apply traditional machining skills to a rarified application: violin making. Knowledge of CAD or CAM programming is desired, but not required.
The successful candidate will have hands-on experience operating sophisticated power tools and know his or her way around a mechanized workshop. Ability to lift heavier objects and a keen respect for safety is required. A strong team spirit and positive attitude is always welcome and a necessary attribute to the successful candidate.
Vermont Violins offers an excellent wage (salaried if full time, hourly if part time) with benefits…commensurate to experience but starting at $20/hour.

A/P BOOKKEEPER
Join the Vermont Violins administrative team and apply your accounting skills to the magical world of music!! We are looking for a part-time bookkeeper to assist with Accounts Payable in our South Burlington location.
This person would be responsible for accurately entering A/P invoices, tracking open accounts, reconciling the bank and credit card statements, filing monthly Sales Tax with the state and preparing payroll data sheets for our outside payroll consultants. Working with vendors to resolve shipping or invoicing errors is also a piece of the job.
The best candidate will have experience working as a bookkeeper or in an accounting office and thereby be familiar with the logic of double-entry bookkeeping. Excellent computer skills, creative application of spreadsheet techniques, and meticulous attention to detail and deadlines is fundamental to the successful candidate.
This position is currently part time with opportunities to expand in the future. Wage is commensurate with experience. Benefits include Paid Time Off, Retirement, Holidays and Staff Discounts.
