This is a violin made by American maker Joel B. Swett in Rochester, New York in 1904. He built in the Guadagnini style, with transparent orange-brown varnish, well figured maple (Wenberg, pg 283). This is in need of full set up and a bit of varnish restoration work, although the instrument is in generally good shape.
