Ada-Schenck Viola (SOLD)
Ada-Schenck Viola (SOLD)
Ada Schenck is a rising star in the world of contemporary violin makers. Born in central Vermont, Ada was an avid fiddle player touring with the Young Traditions of Vermont as a teenager. Her passion for the violin and talent working with her hands led her to the North Bennet Street School of violin making. This viola is 15 ¾” with a string length of 387mm. This viola has a smooth, resonant voice with lyrical harmonics and overtones. The rich color of the amber oil varnish highlights the roll of the tightly curled maple back and ribs. The sloping upper bouts facilitate reaching higher positions on the strings. This viola would be a good match for a student attending music school for music performance or education, or a serious amateur player.
