Jane Bearden is a highly accomplished violinist, noted for her "brilliant silvery sound," with a distinguished international career. She served as a first violinist with the Malaysian Philharmonic Orchestra, touring extensively and recording for BIS under prominent conductors like Lorin Maazel and Sir Neville Marriner, and collaborating with renowned soloists. Her formal training includes degrees from the Manhattan School of Music under Sheryl Staples and experience with the New World Symphony. As a soloist, she has performed with various orchestras, playing on a Giovanni Gagliano violin from 1803.
Upon returning to the US, Bearden pursued post-baccalaureate studies in math and science, including a neuroscience internship, reflecting her interest in the connection between the body, mind, and artistic performance. After spending twelve years between Montreal and Vermont, she and her family have settled near Lebanon, NH.

TEACHING PHILOSOPHY
An experienced orchestral violinist, I focus on playing with ease and finding the most natural and musical solutions that help guide a student towards professional-level performance.
-Suzuki-style early training and prep (for those on the wait list for an official Suzuki Program), I add some elements I feel may be left out by Suzuki programs.
-Performance and Audition Coaching
-Improvisation and Creative Process, exploring non-classical music
-Group classes
Flexible options for lesson frequency. I am happy to meet up occasionally to offer some input.
