Gaetano Antoniazzi Violin

Antoniazzi was born in Cremona, where he apprenticed with Enrico and Giovanni Ceruti workshop.

In 1870, he moved and formed his own workshop, bringing with him the Cremonese tradition.

A Testament to Craft

Gaetano and his sons trained Leandro Bisiach, whose shop became an important inspiration for the modern Italian violin-making tradition.

This particular violin represents the spontaneity and beauty of a late 19th-century interpretation of the Cremonese violin-making tradition.

Masterful Wood Selection

The maple back has fine, tightly curled flame mixed with areas of figured curl.

The slender neck matches the lighter outline and arching, referencing Enrico Ceruti’s model.

The delicate, graceful scroll complements the style of the body.

A beautiful, soaring sound, the violins color ranges from a throaty alto to a ringing soprano.

The violin is in excellent condition with two minor repaired top cracks. A certificate by Eric Blott accompanies this instrument.
