Daphne Gerling is an accomplished violist and educator with an international career spanning performances, teaching engagements, and scholarly pursuits. As Assistant Professor of Viola at the University of North Texas (UNT), she brings a wealth of experience cultivated through studies at Oberlin Conservatory, Cleveland Institute of Music, and Rice University. Her debut album, EnciRCling, released in Spring 2023, showcases her commitment to exploring diverse musical landscapes, including works by female composers.

Gerling's teaching philosophy is rooted in a holistic approach that nurtures both technical proficiency and a deep appreciation for musical history and context. Having completed long-term Suzuki teacher training, she is dedicated to fostering a supportive and engaging learning environment for students of all ages. Her students have gone on to hold prominent teaching and performing positions worldwide, a testament to her effective and inspiring pedagogical approach.
